About Ygor
Born in 2010, Ygor Majchrzyk ([Maï-kh-jè-k] ) discovered percussion at the age of four.

Now 15 years old, he is already showing a unique profile as a percussionist.
His story begins early: at the age of 4, he found in Steve Gillet the teacher willing to take on the challenge of such a young student. The technical foundation he acquired was strengthened over the years: private lessons with Fabrice Mirco (from 2018) and academy training with Olivier Cap (Nivelles and Tamines Academy, 2016–2024).
In 2024, Ygor passed the entrance exam to the Royal Institute of Music and Pedagogy (IMEP) and joined the percussion class as a young talent, where he studied keyboards with Jessica Ryckewaert , timpani and snare drum with Bernard Grodos, and drums with Jérôme Baudart . He furthered his experience with an additional academic year with Jérémie Pannetier (Nivelles Academy).
This structured training has nurtured an already remarkable musicality: at the SONATINA 2024 competition, Ygor achieved 93%, the 3rd prize, and the distinction of first percussionist. Curious and open-minded, he is also a multi-instrumentalist (alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones): he studies tenor saxophone with Mathieu Ablet (Nivelles Academy), plays baritone saxophone in the Nivelles Musical Corps, and also performs in an academic jazz band, grounding his practice in the local musical life.
In parallel, he composes electronic music, which he puts in dialogue with percussion, and readily lends a hand as a percussion reinforcement whenever the opportunity arises.
In 2025, he will deploy a visibility plan (media & professional recordings) and develop partnerships to evolve his instrumentarium, with priority given to an Adams vibraphone.
Major artistic objective: Eurovision Young Talent 2026, where he will present N. Daughtrey's Concerto for Vibraphone and Wind Ensemble, in piano-reduction accompanied by the talented Astrid Denis.
Between classical rigor and stage energy, Ygor wants to "make percussion heard by his generation", with a precise, musical and accessible style of playing.
